Membership Requirements
South Central York County Senior Center is a recreational facility offering programs and activities Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. for independent individuals 60 years of age and over. Our facility is handicapped accessible. In order to become a member or maintain membership at the Center, members must meet the following criteria.
To become member, come in Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to 10:30 am or 12:00 pm to 1:30 p,m. Ask for any one of our staff to help you join the center.
Members are required to be responsible for their own personal care, including but not limited to:

Hygiene

Toileting
-
Continence
-
Cleanliness
-
Feeding
-
Ability to evacuate the building independently
Members requiring assistance with care must be accompanied by a member-provided caregiver at all times. The caregiver is responsible for personal care assistance if the member requires assistance.
Members are required to understand and maintain appropriate behavior in a social setting among their peers and not exhibit any disruptive behaviors including, but not limited to:

Violent behavior/threats

Verbal aggression
-
Insults
-
Offensive language
-
Improper physical contact

Sexually-charged behavior
The Center does not provide assistance with any member medical needs. Members are responsible for their own health care including, but not limited to:

Medications
-
Special diets
-
Medical appointments
-
Emergency provisions
If the member requires assistance with medical needs, they must be accompanied by a member-provided caregiver at all times, and that caregiver must see that all such medical needs are met.
South Central York County Senior Center Staff will determine if members are required to be accompanied by a member-provided caregiver.

Transportation
​
Currently door-to-door transportation to and from the Center is “free” via Rabbit Transit. YCAAA provides the funding for this service. Riders must be age 65 or older and sign-up in advance for the service. Call the Center for more information.
